So what’s this nonsense about refusing to consider currently unemployed U. S. workers due to the fact that they are unemployed?
So when the plant closes and workers are laid off, when the school district cuts teachers, when the company reduces the sales force, then those laid off through no fault of their own are condemmed to remain unemployed? Unfortunately, that’s the midset of some companies these days who are stating that they will not consider those currently unemployed for open job positions. Folks who think like that deserve a spot at the end of the unemployment line!
There are millions of well qualified U.S. workers seeking work. The circular logic of denying employment opportunity because someone is currently unemployed is what we call a “mean and stupid” rule. Wasn’t everyone unemployed at one time? We can do better than this.
